Peru President announces the two-week lockdown to control the second Covid-19 wave. This includes the capital Lima.
Peru’s government has taken this decision as the number of infections in the country has increased significantly. This information is given in a report of BBC.
President Francisco Sagasti said Covid-19 infections have increased so much that the hospital’s medical facilities are on the verge of collapsing.
In this situation, the lockdown will be effective in 10 areas from January 31 to February 14.
During the lockdown, all shops, domestic flights, flights from Europe and Brazil, and travel that is not essential under the new restrictions will be closed.
