Joe Biden is sworn in as 46th President of the United States (US). At 11:47 a.m. local time in Washington, the chief justice administered the oath to him.
The swearing-in ceremony is held on the west front of the Capitol Hill Building in Washington. Biden put on his hand on a copy of his family’s 127-year-old Bible.
According to various US media reports, outgoing Donald Trump did not attend the swearing-in ceremony as announced earlier. This is the first time since Andrew Johnson in 1879 that a US president has refrained from attending his successor’s inauguration.
However, outgoing Vice President Mike Pence is present. Others include former Presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton, and former First Lady Michelle Obama, Laura Bush and Hillary Clinton.
Jimmy Carter(96) the oldest of the former presidents, and former First Lady Rosalyn Carter did not attend. They informed the matter in advance and sent their greetings to the newly elected president. Also present were top military and civilian officials.

Music star Lady Gaga performed the national anthem at the start of Biden’s swearing-in ceremony. Everyone present at the time stood with their hands on their chests and became united with the national anthem.
After that, according to the tradition, Kamala Harris took the path as the first vice president. Kamala became the first woman in the United States, the first black American, and the first South Asian. He is administered the oath of office by Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor. After the swearing-in, everyone congratulated Kamala with loud applause.

Before taking the oath of office, Biden and his wife Jill Biden began their day at the Blair House the guest house of the President of the United States. This morning Biden first visited the Cathedral of St.
Matthew the Apostolic Church. He was joined by leaders of his party, the Democratic Party, and the opposition Republican Party. After the prayer, Biden tweeted, “The beginning of a new day in the United States.”.
Biden is sworn in in a different context. In the history of the United States, no US president has received a country from his predecessor like Biden received from Trump.
