Drug manufacturers Sanofi and GSK announce a delay in the Covid-19 vaccine. This vaccine could be available end of 2021. This was reported in the report of the news agency AFP.
Results between the experimental Covid-19 vaccine of Sanofi and GSK have shown that it works less to create an immune response in older people.
This was followed by a statement from two drug manufacturers about the vaccine.
Today’s announcement by Sanofi and GSK is a big blow to the optimism that has been created around the world to get multiple vaccines quickly in the fight against the coronavirus epidemic.
Sanofi and GSK said the delay would be in creating vaccines to improve the immune response among the elderly.
Sanofi and GSK’s Covid-19 vaccine was expected to arrive in mid-2021. Now that time has gone back to the end of next year.
An announcement was made last April by Sanofi and GSK to work together to create a Covid-19 vaccine.
The United Kingdom was the first country in the world to approve the emergency use of the Pfizer vaccine on December 2.
The German company Bioentech has assisted in the development of this vaccine Pfizer. Following the approval of the vaccine, mass vaccination began in the United Kingdom on 8 December.
Bahrain is the second country in the world after the United Kingdom to give emergency approval to the Pfizer-Bioentech vaccine. Canada and Saudi Arabia have also approved the vaccine.
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) expert advisory committee has recommended that the Pfizer-Bioentech vaccine be approved for emergency use.
Pfizer-BioNTech claims that their Covid-19 vaccine is 90 percent effective.
