China has been the greatest threat to democracy and freedom since World War II, US spy chief warns.
US National Intelligence director chief John Ratcliffe made these remarks about China.
Ratcliffe wrote a November 3 article in the Wall Street Journal. The title of the opinionated article is ‘China’s No. 1 Threat to National Security’.
“China resisting efforts to rebuild and dominate the world is a challenge for our generation and it also greatest threat for US democracy and freedom ,” Ratcliffe said.
According to Ratcliffe, China is preparing for a conflict with the United States. They have taken the place of Russia.
The director of US National Intelligence said they were clear that Beijing wanted to dominate the United States economically militarily and technologically and the rest of the world.
Ratcliffe said China was increasing its power by stealing US secrets. Later they are occupying the place of the United States in the market.
However, previously others top US officials made similar comments about China.
China has not yet commented on Ratcliffe’s remarks.
China’s relationship with the United States has reached its worst point under US President Donald Trump. The Trump administration has taken strong action against Beijing on various issues, including trade.
Trump has repeatedly blamed China for spreading coronavirus around the world.
