Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels claim they successfully fired the missile at the Saudi Aramco site in Jeddah.
A spokesman for the force said on Monday that the missiles fired at a Saudi Aramco supply station in Jeddah.
Riyadh did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Houthis, Reuters reported.
Yahya Saria a spokesman for the Iranian-backed force advised foreign companies and citizens in Saudi Arabia to be vigilant as “operations continue.”
“The attack was in response to the actions of the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen,” she said.
On social media, she also posted a picture of a satellite labeled ‘North Jeddah Balk Plant – Saudi Aramco’.
Reuters reported that Google Maps matched the image and description of the satellite provided by Saria with the image of Houthi rebels missile attack point Saudi Aramco.
Saudi Arabian state-owned Aramco did not immediately return calls seeking comment on the Houthi attack.
Most of the production and export facilities of one of the world’s most influential oil companies are located in the eastern province of Saudi Arabia more than a thousand kilometers from Jeddah.
“The attack was absolutely perfect. Ambulance and fire engines rushed to the spot, ”said Saria. She also said that a Quds-2 type wing missile was used in the attack.
