UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson is in ‘self-isolation’ after meeting with an MP affected by Covid-19. A spokesman for Downing Street said on Sunday.
According to AFP, Boris Johnson will continue his activities from Downing Street in compliance with the rules of hygiene and on the advice of doctors while in self-isolation.
The UK’s national health department has advised NHS Boris Johnson to stay in self-isolation. A spokesman for the PM said the prime minister was OK and had no symptoms of Covid-19.
Downing Street did not say how long Boris Johnson would remain in isolation. However, according to the UK National Health Service rules, you should stay in isolation for 14 days.
Boris Johnson held a 35-minute meeting with several members of parliament on Downing Street last Thursday.
Shortly afterward Boris Johnson’s official residence, Downing Street reported that one of the people present at the meeting showed signs of Covid-19. So then the Prime Minister went into isolation.
Earlier in April, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was treated for coronary heart disease for three nights at the intensive care unit of St Thomas’ Hospital in London.
More than 50,000 people have died of Covid-19 in the UK so far. 1.3 million people have become positive.
