Donald Trump agrees to begin the formal process of handing over president power to US election winner Joe Biden.
Trump said the agency in charge of overseeing the transfer process should “do whatever it takes”.
The General Service Administration (GSA) says it is recognizing Biden as the “apparent winner”.
Biden’s victory was finally recognized shortly after the Michigan election results were officially certified.
The Biden team welcomed the decision to begin the power transfer process.
“Today’s decision was a necessary step in addressing the challenges facing the nation, including controlling epidemics and accelerating the economy,” they said in a statement.
…fight, and I believe we will prevail! Nevertheless, in the best interest of our Country, I am recommending that Emily and her team do what needs to be done with regard to initial protocols, and have told my team to do the same.
