The Islamic State (IS) has claims responsibility for the attack on Kabul University in Afghanistan.
The so-called media ‘Amaq’ published a statement, which is known as the spokesperson of IS. This information was given in the report of the international news agency AFP.
The Afghan health ministry told AFP that 22 people had been killed in the attack. At least 22 others were injured in the incident. Most of the injured are students.
A Kabul police spokesman told AFP that all those killed in the attack were students. 10 of them are women.
One of the survivors said the attack took place around 11 am on Monday. One of the attackers entered the campus and carried out a suicide bombing.
The two gunmen then fired indiscriminately. At that time, more than a hundred students were fleeing over the walls.
The attack took place just before the opening of the Iranian Book Fair at Kabul University.
This is the second attack targeting an educational institution in the Afghan capital, Kabul, in less than two weeks.
