The US-Iran gulf again conflict, analysts think that it raises fear of war. The US Navy said last week that some Iranian armored vessels in the Gulf were provoking their fleet.
Soon after, President Trump issued a tweet instructing his naval commanders not to hesitate to shoot down Iranian boats if they were annoyed. Earlier this year, Qasim Soleimani, the top commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), was assassinated. This is the biggest US military threat against Iran.

There was an incident that the IRGC acknowledged happened, but the US Navy was responsible for what they said. IRGC’s top commander Sardar Hussein Salami said on Thursday that he had instructed the Iranian navy if there was a security risk on any Iranian military or civilian ship in the Gulf, In his words, “America’s terrorist forces must be destroyed.” He warned the United States not to disturb any Iranian vessels.
The U.S. Navy said that several armored speedboats belonging to Iran’s IRGC had moved too close to one of their fleets in the Gulf. The U.S. Navy had a state-of-the-art destroyer named USS Lewis B. Puller and USS Paul Hamilton(DDG-60).
Journalist Jonathan Marcus says US-Iran gulf again conflict not a new issue but there are concerns about whether this kind of belligerent debate and turns into a real war.
There is no comparison between the military capabilities of US warships in the Gulf and Iran’s naval capabilities. Moreover, the behavior of these Iranian armored vehicles is not unknown to US commanders. As a result, this military tension in the Gulf proves that while the coronavirus pandemic has plagued the world, hostility has not abated. Both Iran and the United States have not deviated from their larger strategic goals.
Iran is determined to reduce US influence in the Middle East and the Gulf. In Syria, Iran is still equally active in achieving their goals. The coronavirus crisis has indirectly helped increase the power of extremists in Iran. They may think that the United States is so troubled by the coronavirus that they do not want to be involved in any conflict in the Gulf right now.
