Manchester City banned from UEFA Champions League for the next two seasons & they has also been fined 100 million euros. Union of European Football Association says Manchester City has been banned for violating Uefa’s ‘Financial Fair Play’ (FFP).
UEFA said the decision was taken because of two breaches. The club broke the financial transparency clause. At the same time, they expressed their disrespect for the governing body of the European League (UEFA). As a result, they will not be able to play in the Champions League next (2020-21) and (2021-22) seasons. Manchester City have the opportunity to appeal the two-year ban. In a statement on their official website and Twitter, Manchester City Club authorities said, they were disappointed with the decision, but not surprised. The matter will be appealed to CAS, the highest court of the sport. Manchester City has expressed hope that the sentence will change after the appeal.

UEFA said in its Investigation Report, that from 2012 to 2016, Mansity broke UEFA’s financial transparency. They did not accurately calculate the club’s income. However, in December 2018, the chief investigating officer of UEFA referred to Mancini as ‘guilty’ before the investigation began. He also said Mansity would be punished. Manetti, therefore, feels they are being punished without prejudice without proper investigation.
