Coronavirus outbreaks in China has tripled since last week. Coronavirus is now spreading from there to other major cities. Fears of a new virus spread to China are growing. The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that the virus could be spread worldwide.

China’s National Health Commission said Thursday that at least 25 people had died from the virus, and 830 plus people are affected. 177 of the victims were in critical condition, they said. Another 122 suspects are under treatment.

A further 536 people were affected in Wuhan city. Five more people have been affected in the capital Beijing. The new pneumonia-like virus is a new type of coronavirus in Wuhan province. Although Streptococcus pneumoniae is a bacterium responsible for the common pneumonia disease, the new virus, also known as ‘Wuhan virus’, has recently emerged.

Experts warn that coronavirus is spreading from person to person. Meanwhile, the virus has been infected in neighboring countries of South Korea, Japan, and Thailand, and other countries have been warned.

Virus attack

According to a report by the MRC Center for Global Infection Disease Analysis at London Imperial College in the UK, there were only 1,723 people infected with the coronavirus virus until January 13. However, the Chinese health authorities have not commented on the report.

Authorities are also worried that the country’s infection could increase if billions of people travel from one end to the other during the Chinese New Year’s holiday. Lunar New Year’s week-long holiday in China begins Saturday.

In order to handle the situation, public transport has been stopped in Wuhan and Huanggang cities. All major festivals and temples are banned in Beijing, film releases suspended and tourist-banned cities closed.  About 20 million people in Hubei province have been isolated from others. Air and rail communication with Wuhan has been stopped. Traffic is closed on most roads. Face masks have been made compulsory everywhere in Wuhan.

At least four more cities have been closed after mass transit stopped in Wuhan province in Hubei province on Thursday. These cities are Huanggang, Izhu, Xiantao, and Chibi. Also, the local government announced yesterday that all outgoing train services and airplane flights would be temporarily closed at 10.00 am local time and the bus, subway and ferry service would be closed from 01.00 pm.

A few hours later, another city, Huanggango, took the same action. The city has about 7 million inhabitants. Authorities have urged people not to leave the city, except to announce the closure of buses and trains from midnight on Thursday.

global emergency

The World Health Organization (WHO) also held a meeting in Geneva on the situation. Although China has had a severe form, they have decided not to declare the situation a ‘global emergency’, given the presence of 13 people in other countries so far.

WHO chief  Tedros Adam Gabriel said; “Don’t make mistakes. In the event of an emergency in China, it has not yet become a global cause for concern, but can become, “

At the beginning of December last year, the number of patients infected with the virus spread from a seafood market in Wuhan. The coronavirus (COV) virus is a large family that is infected with other serious family diseases such as cold, cough or fever virus in the transmission of infection, such as Middle East Respiratory C (MRS-COV) and acute respiratory syndrome (SARS-COV). Generally, the characteristics of a new virus that is unknown to the group are initially named as coronaviruses.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Health confirmed the presence of a virus in a person in Kanazawa province in Japan on Thursday. He returned from Japan on January 10 with a fever from China. Doctors also detected a new pneumonia-like virus in the person’s blood sample.

The disease has the potential to spread through ‘Sneeze, coughs’ and spread to various places in China as well as in other countries including the United States. The first outbreak of the virus was reported in Singapore on Thursday. A 66-year-old man from China has been diagnosed with the virus. Also, 1 person has been found to have the virus in America.

Japan Virus

Several scientists have already started researching the virus. Lynch Wang, a virologist at the National University of Singapore, said in an interview with Science magazine Nature that it is usually a zoonotic virus, which moves easily from the body to the human body. During the winter months, the virus becomes infected.

Evolution scientist Edward Holmes of the University of Sydney told science journal ‘Science’ that initially a group of researchers led by Zhang Yong-Zhen of Fudan University in Shanghai received five types of DNA sequences. Which is already shared in the database. If it does take the form of epidemics, this sequence will add new research.

Xu Jianguo, director of the Chinese Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and head of the virus assessment committee of the Chinese government, said that among the symptoms that were initially found in patients’ bodies were breathing and fever from what we consider to be pneumonia. But he hopes that if the virus is not spread next week, it may reduce the transmission of the virus.
