The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) organized an exhibition of US and British drones detained for violating Iran’s airspace. One of the highlights of the exhibition held in Tehran on Saturday was the British pilotless aircraft or drone ‘Phoenix’. IRGC’s aerospace division seized the drone.
The British drone ‘Phoenix’ can be used to attack enemy positions at any time of day and night, in any weather. The drone can also be used for intelligence surveillance on enemy forces or the country, even controlling flying aircraft in the sky. The drone, with a wingspan of 5.6 meters long, can run a maximum of 166 kilometers per hour and fly in the sky for five hours drawn.

One of the US drones to be featured in the IRGC exhibit is ‘Aerosond HQ’. This drone capable of flying straight up from the ground position is used in electronic warfare. It is also used for spying on enemy positions at any time of the night. Saturday’s exhibition featured another drone called ‘Desert Hawk’ made in America. The drone, which is 0.86 meters tall and weighs 3.2 kg, can fly in the sky for about an hour with an electric engine.
Iran has previously announced on multiple occasions that they have been able to export their technology by performing reverse engineering on any drone of enemy forces captured by them.
